thank you so much for the reassurance, have been getting mixed reports of immigration officers denying re-entry, so am a little perturbed :) dont want to be stuck in a situation where i cannot re-enter :)

Folks,
Desperately need some help here. I do NOT have access to my PERM or I-140 applications and my current employer's lawyers refuse to give me the documents.
I want to get H1 transfer and AC-21 to move to another company since I HAVE the EAD but cannot use it since my wife is a dependent on my H1B.
I am desperately trying to find where to get the "job duties" and the DOT/SOC codes that the new company's lawyer says would be needed to make sure I don't have to go through the PERM/I-140 process again.
PLEASE advise.

I tried it. They might wont ask new approval notice. You should show that and get the expiry date in I-94 as same as your latest I-797 Approval notice.
You don't need to stamp visa as its not expired.....

You can immigrate base dupon family sponsorship, employment or just the point system without employment.
I qualified by point system without employment offer. You can take the test on line for free to see if you qualify by the point system.

Sorry, doesn't do much for me. Can you get the monitor with a game onscreen to reflect on the joystick in some way?
I thought toys would be an easy one, but everything I've thought of seems so obvious and cliched. I think you have the right idea, just don't think this one is it.

Guys,
I wanted to select an infopass appointment for my wife her case is still pending, mine was approved on sept 4th (thru CRIS mail) at the Boston office
While selecting Infopass Appointment, should I select :
* You need service on a case that has already been filed.
(This seems logical , but it asks to choose from 4 options...the one that seems appropriate is : Case services follow up appointment...but it asks to bring SR (service request no) and that it should be over 45 days from the day SR was opened. But SR was opened only last friday...can I avail this service.
Or
*You need information and other services.
(On this one 4 services are available: one of which is obtain case status....but the question is if I want to obtain case status it must have already been filed...then it should belong to the above one)
Also anyone having experience in the state of Mass...last time we had an infopass we had to go to Boston USCIS office...now it is showing Lawrence Field office for the appointment I took for my wife using the 2nd option from above.
I selected No of people as 2 so can I accompany her to the office?

I am in the same situation...my 6th yr H1 expires on Feb 2008. I am really hoping that I will get an EAD before my H1 expiration. But if I dont get an EAD on time then I will apply for recapturing my time outside USA. I travel overseas a lot on business so basically i will need about 3months of time recaptured to meet the 1 yr prior labor approval for H1 extension. My PD is april 2007. Hope this helps and works out for you.

The Barack Obama Administration recently announced that border guards at United States Ports of Entry (POE) will begin screening aliens arriving from certain countries based on specific information about threats to the USA. The immigration attorneys at Los Angeles' Fong & Chun immigration law firm are advocates for national security balanced against sensible protections for civil rights. We hope this change will reduce the number of unwarranted, unreasonable, and (usually) unfriendly challenges to certain arriving visitors.
Since the New York terrorist attack in September 2001, the USA has maintained a list of approximately fourteen countries (the so-called "group of fourteen") which are considered to encourage state-sponsored terrorism, or which are believed to provide assistance to terrorists. The US would not even officially name the specific countries, or confirm the exact number of countries, on the list. All citizens of one of these countries -- of any gender, any age, any social class, any educational level, for any reason -- would be subjected to additional interrogation by US Border Guards.
The newly-announced change sets up a system which uses intelligence information and threat assessment -- about specific persons, specific targets, and specific descriptions, to identify passengers who might have a link to terrorism. Quite properly, those persons would be subjected to additional scrutiny. Others who do not meet the more reasoned threat profiles would be allowed to enter the USA in the way of other visitors.
For example: most people in the know would say that the Islamic Republic of Iran was part of the group of fourteen. All citizens from Iran -- absolutely all -- would be pulled aside and interrogated at POEs. Under the new system, if the US has specific information about a 26-year old male Iranian student, or an Iranian woman with a certain name, or even someone with a partial passport number, then persons meeting those descriptions will be pulled aside. The USCIS will honor the procedure to register births or do a name change in the home country, i suggest you submit the documents that you referred to and also get a local attorney to attest to the local law in such matters citing the proper section of the law. Name change before the Court should be sufficient but better to get this verified.

the change in salary ($76K to 120K) is a cause for concern. It depends how long ago you filed your labor. If it has been greater than 5 years, IMO the salary change may be ok. Rather than the titles, the job duties have to reasonably match.

I filed I-140 and I-485 together in Aug 2007. I got I-140 receipt waiting for I-485 receipt.
I-140 - Status - Pending
Can I work in UK or Canada for some time?
