USCIS has updated the processing dates pages of all the four service centers on September 28. Now the pages say that these dates are valid as of July 31, 2008 only.
If I remember well the processing dates information was more up-to-date earlier.
So looks like CIS has backtracked from their earlier published dates. They are telling us that they simply cannot tell what the current processing dates are. All they can tell us is that what applications they were processing on July 31.
What can we deduce from this? Is it good? Is it bad? Or no relevance?
It could be good as CIS might be processing July 2007 485 applications as of today? Or may be not.
Simply more confusion, as if as it is we were not confused enough.

If employer is asking pay cut becuase he is in trouble, you should change the job. I don't think he will do anything (or pay you douple), if you are in trouble even if he is making good money. Move on..

For the experts on this board, my H1 expires on 9/30/07. Should I wait till after Aug. 17 to qualify for a 3-year extension?

I will also post a textual link on my online party invitation website where several indians visit and send their party invitations.
Currently there are 2 indian families celebrating housewarming party using my website with close to 75 guests and i have several email id's who in the past have used my website.
I hope i atleast get the attention of few indians to this website and our cause.

Hi All
I have a question regarding visitors visa, my parents got multiple Entry 10 years visa in 2007, but have not visited me so far, but this december my Mom is visitng me and in Feb my father( as to avoid harsh winter weather in East Coast), they will leave back in May 2009.
My Question is will there be any issue as their visa was issued in 2007 but they are visiting now
Do I need to send any new documents( I have moved onto EAD )
Looking forward to hear suggestions.
Hi .. a quick personal experience with a similar scenario.. My Mom visited after 3 yrs of travel visa issual.. at the port of entry the imm officer asked her for the intent of visit and also asked how long she intended to stay..no other questions

Its simple,,fill in form 10c and and form 19 and send it to HR. They should even help you get it direct deposit in to your local account in India. I got mine....it was pain-less. This was not with tcs,,,another company...

Not sure what they do in the secondary inspection.. In my case they asked no questions at all.. Just asked me to sit and wait while they entered / checked something in their system. I was in and out within 20 mnts.
What is the secondary inspection about? Is it just sitting and waiting while they do some checks on our file or do we have to answer some questions? Please let me know

I do not understand what the need is to change to F1. One can do Masters while on H4. If you are thinking she needs OPT to work after Masters, It is a 2 year course, right?. You can decide after 1-1/2 yrs if you want her to move to F1.

I was told if you have valid stamping you do not need get new stamping even if you changed the employer. All you need is to give the new approval notice at the POE.
am I missing something here.
If one has I-797 notice without new I-94, he/she should get new H1 visa stamp.

The processing times for I-140 applications in the TSC show no change since the last update. Are there any changes in the NSC processing times ?
I haven't been following the I-485 times for a while since my priority date (EB3/ Mar 2004) is not current and I'm more keen on the I-140 approval for now.

If employer is asking pay cut becuase he is in trouble, you should change the job. I don't think he will do anything (or pay you douple), if you are in trouble even if he is making good money. Move on..

Today i got an alert form USCIS that the pending 485s (for my wife and myself) have been transferred from NSC to TSC. Wanted to see if others with 485s pending at NSC have seen similar action.
My priority date is Oct 2005 and my 485 has been pending at NSC since July 2007.
Since TSC is almost current in processing I-485 applications, it could be that NSC might be transferring some applications to lower their I-485 pending case load.

I am in US right now on H1B status, I've my wife on H4 status, I'll be leaving to renew my H1B again, but I heard that some people get their case under review for months, so I am planning to re-enter to US using my AP in case this happened to me.
My question now:
Would re-entering to US using my AP void my wife's H4 status? Knowing the fact that I'll be working with my H1B status and I am not planning to use my EAD

It is good to carry all possible documents. However for extensions they just check the I-797 along with the DS-156 and 157. They did not ask any other document. Hope this helped. Regards - MP70.
